Nanoforce¡¯s key competencies are in compounding and transforming polymeric nanocomposites. The company has complementary technology in the field of ceramic nanomaterials with specialist processing techniques such as spark plasma sintering.

The company has a broad range of mechanical testing capabilities for thermoplastics and thermosetting materials such as tensile, flexure, impact, shear and nano-indentation.

The polymer and ceramic processing areas of Nanoforce are highly advanced in their respective areas and Nanoforce is looking for commercialisation routes for a number of potential applications.

Nanoforce has identified wearable technologies, energy and personal protection and safety as its key market areas. Within the wearable technologies area it intends to build on the technologies related to technical textiles and the fashion industry. Sensors, fibre modifications, coatings, encapsulation, polymer electronics present a number of opportunities to expand in this market. The service proposition under energy is chiefly concentrated on coatings, surface modifications, piezoelectric ceramic sensors, conductive polymers, conductive ceramics and production and storage of hydrogen. With expertise in computer modelling, high performance fibres, electrospinning, anti-microbial materials, nano - clays et al Nanoforce has plans to build a strong market in personal protection and safety.
