Technology carries out numerical simulations based on the use of
finite element software.
Simulations can be carried out on the
structural scale when the response of a structure to various loading
conditions, including impact and fatigue, can be assessed. This
is often described as 'virtual testing'. Despite the power of
such simulations, which can include parametric investigations and
optimisations, we believe that virtual testing must always be
validated by experimental investigations. Further simulations
on the micro or nano scales can be carried out to explore and
optimise microstructures and architectures of advanced materials.
The main interest includes, but not limited to, stress analysis, thermoelectrical analysis, heat transfer analysis, meshless method and boundary element method for failure analysis, etc.
