Universal Mechanical Test Frame Instron 5566

Our state of the art Mechanical Test frame, uses a high resolution, non-contacting optical extensometer. This significantly improves the accuracy of readings and  reduces the error in the measurements of  data analysis. The machine is ideal for tests requiring less than 50 kN force and where better alignment or a larger test space are required. Also at hand are a wide range of grips and fixtures for tension, compression, bending and component testing.

PCFC Micro Calorimeter

PCFC data has been shown to correlate with fire test data (Cone Calorimeter), flammability results, and combustion tests (Bomb Calorimeter) and as such is seen as a powerful, tool to assess and predict flammability properties.

With a Microsoft Windows based data acquisition and analysis software the machine is able to provide a wealth of information on the fire hazard of a material, including Fire Load, Ignition Temperature, heat release rate, flammability.

Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)

Our AFM imaging technique uses a very high resolution type SPM, more than 1000 times higher quality than the optical diffraction limits and it is used predominatley as a tool for imaging, measuring and manipulating matter at the nanoscale.

The atomic force microscope (AFM) or scanning force microscope (SFM) uses a very high-resolution type of scanning probe microscope, with demonstrated resolution of fractions of a nanometer.
